We went to in the Bell Club in 1945… which we came in to do a couple dances with the people they’re gonna put up a little show. Alright yeah we went there and danced with the people and the police were there and all. And um they said afterwards to a lady, “Can you sing?”. She said “what for?” and they said “we’re starting up a little group and if you want to come along and do a bit…” And she asked all of us and we all went and never looked back
